Toymora was born in a sunlit garage in Wellington, New Zealand — not as a business idea, but as a heart project. Our founder, Emma Wright, was a young mum and primary school teacher who struggled to find toys that weren’t just noisy plastic or hollow trend pieces. She wanted more for her kids — toys that taught, that lasted, that sparked imagination rather than silenced it. What started as a few shelves of wooden blocks and art kits grew into Toymora: a company built on the belief that children deserve more than just things — they deserve wonder, joy, and meaningful play. Over the years, Toymora has become a trusted name for families across Aotearoa and now, beyond. We're still proudly New Zealand-owned, and we carry that small-town care into everything we do — from the way we answer emails to how we wrap gifts for shipping. Our goal has never been to be the biggest. It’s to be the most loved.
We believe toys are more than products — they’re memories waiting to be made. Our mission is simple but deep: bring more smiles into more homes, one toy at a time. Whether it's a toddler laughing at a spinning top or a grandparent and child bonding over a puzzle, those moments are why Toymora exists. We’ve spent years building relationships — not just with customers, but with local makers, educators, and even the tiniest testers (yes, our own children!). We choose our stock carefully: not based on trends, but on quality, play value, and heart. Each toy we sell is a reflection of what we’d want in our own homes. At Toymora, we don’t believe in fast play. We believe in toys that grow with children, teach without lecturing, and last through generations. And most of all — we believe play is powerful. It heals, teaches, connects, and most importantly — it makes people happy. That’s what we wake up for every day.
